The Bible has made a profound influence on my life. I have no doubt that I would be completely different if it weren't for the reading, studying, and teaching of the Bible. While that may make you think I am biased on the subject, I have to be honest in say that I still have struggled with the Bible quite a bit over the course of my life. I've wrestled with many of the questions that all of us wrestle with.
Let's be honest. Some of the things that we as Christians claim as our faith can be a little hard-to-believe. This series seeks to explore five distinct beliefs of Christianity and determine whether they are indeed fact, or fiction.
Some of our favorite stories are filled with good villains - Darth Vader, the Joker, Voldemort. As it turns out, history and the Scripture are full of villains as well. This youth series explores the compelling and enlightening stories of five villains from the Scripture in an effort to see what NOT to do in certain situations.
One of the most critical elements in church life is that of leadership. In fact, our church vision statement says that we will seek to, “Lead All to Life in Christ.” Our focus at Faith is for every member to leverage their influence and lead others toward Christ. Everyone is to be a leader in some capacity.
As many of you are aware, the state of Louisiana is undergoing major flooding that is leaving homes, businesses, and churches totally destroyed. We have learned that a sister church of ours, Open Door Baptist Church, has been impacted by this flooding.
We are calling upon our church to help.
Next Thursday, a truck from another sister church here in town will head to Louisiana full of various supplies to help those in need in the area.
Specifically, we are asking our church family and friends to help provide some of these helpful items. This includes:
- Bottled Water
- Non-perishable Food
- Cleaning Supplies (Bleach, Buckets, Rubber Gloves)
- Paper Products (Paper Plates, Cups, Plastic Cutlery, Napkins, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Trash Bags)
- Baby Items (Diapers, Wipes)
SUPPLY DROP OFF SCHEDULE:
- Sun., 8/21 // 9:00am-12:30pm & 4:45pm-7:30pm
- Mon., 8/22 // 9:00am-7:00pm
- Tues., 8/23 // 7:30am-4:30pm
A truck delivering the supplies from our church to the sending church in Macclenny will leave Wednesday morning.
